‘Some House Wives’ a poem by Linda Gabriel | #Africa4Her

I know of women who plunge themselves into love pools
With all that makes them who they are
They vow never to get out
Homemade punching bags they become
Blow after blow they suck it in
They craft stories on why their lips are swollen
They teach themselves to be stronger
They learn not to shed tears in front of their children
They find solace in believing that one day he will change
I know some of them to have lost their lives
